Load Sharing Scheme Incorporating Power Security Margins for Parallel Operation of Voltage Source Inverters

The interconnection of distributed energy resources (DERs) in microgrids (MGs) operating both islanded and grid-connected modes require coordinated control strategies. DERs are interfaced with voltage source inverters (VSIs) enabling interconnection. This paper proposes a load demand sharing scheme for the parallel operation VSIs an inverter-based microgrid (VSI-MG). ride-through capability heavily loaded VSI-MG, where some fully due to occurrence event is investigated. In developing analytical equations model VSI, concept virtual synchronous machines (VSM) applied enable VSI mimic inertia effect machines. A power frame transformation (PFT) that takes line ratios MG network into account also incorporated yield satisfactory transient responses frequency bus voltages network. Jacobian-based method then developed take operational capacity each VSI-MG. resulting amendable droop constrains within their capabilities when occurs. Simulation results presented demonstrate effectiveness proposed procedure which has great potential facilitate efforts maintaining system reliability resiliency.
